Gary thought they forgot about him until they called - two years later.
One of Gary's favorite stories was in his first year as an agent in Omaha. He connected with a couple at an Open House, and promised to set up a house search for them - being new, he also promised he wouldn't "bother" them, but instead wait for them to contact him when they were ready. "Well, this couple got two years of emails, newsletters etc. from my Relationship Manager, and I never got a call about seeing a house. I was about to stop the search and drop them off my list when I got a call. SURPRISE! They'd seen acreage they wanted to buy." While they were walking around the property, Gary asked them if they'd liked the newsletter or deleted it as junk mail. "The husband said they got it, loved it, and read every one!! So that told me not to do a thing, and just let the Relationship Manager keep sending stuff out -- because it gets my face in front of my contacts monthly." The original couple not only spent $250k buying acreage through Gary, they also sent a referral who bought a house. Regular contact paid off for Gary and his team. Why? Because people call the Realtor who's top of mind.
