Donna Reed, one of our Relationship Masters in the Carolinas, had such a successful time at a recent builder's home show that she had to give some of her leads to other agents nearby. She couldn't handle the crowd!
What drew them? The prospect of winning the $50,000 Home Sweet Home Sweepstakes. This relationship marketing tool not only helps our members keep their contact database current (all contact information is required to register), but also is quite a magnet in a large group. Donna pointed out that other booths were typically offering gift certificates or $20 outdoor grills. It's hard to compete with a chance to win 50 big ones!
In fact, that experience went so well that she decided to take another action that has been successful for her in the past. She bought a large electronic sign at a busy intersection in Columbia, this time
highlighting the sweepstakes and her PropertySource web address. We'll keep in touch with her to see how many calls and/or hits she gets as a result - that's IF we can get through!
Donna is one of our members making the most of a market that's not as strong as it has been. Home buyers who visit her web site see a home page that includes some straight talk about investors who are ready to buy homes from people in tough situations. She suggests they discuss a "short sale" with her if they're behind in payments, and has added a custom page to the site defining what that is and how it works. Donna's presenting herself as a solution - not just worrying about the market problem. Great idea! No wonder she's got over 3500 contacts in her database.
